pub enum TlsMode {
StartTls,
ImplicitTls,
}Expand description
Selects how TLS is established on an SMTP connection, independently of the security posture expressed by Tls.
Variants§
StartTls
Begin in cleartext and upgrade via the STARTTLS verb, as governed by
enable_tls.
ImplicitTls
The connection is TLS from the first byte (SMTPS). There is no STARTTLS
negotiation. enable_tls is consulted only for certificate validation:
an *Insecure variant skips validation, any other variant (including
Disabled) requires a valid certificate. DANE and MTA-STS do not apply.
