DNSBL / blocklist (RBL)

A DNSBL (DNS-based blocklist) is a queryable list of IP addresses or domains associated with spam, used by receivers to reject or score mail, with Spamhaus lists being the most consequential. Listing on a major blocklist can stop delivery across much of the internet; monitoring and fast remediation are standard MailOps practice.
