log_consumer_lag_seconds

Age in seconds of the oldest log segment not yet started by a consumer, counted from the modification time of that segment.

This metric has labels, which means that the system will track the metric for each combination of the possible labels that are active. Certain labels, especially those that correlate with source or destination addresses or domains, can have high cardinality. High cardinality metrics may require some care and attention when provisioning a downstream metrics server.

Such a segment does not exist once the consumer has reached the newest log segment. The gauge reports 0 in that case.

• log_dir - the log directory being scanned
• checkpoint_name - the name set by the tailer of the consumer for its checkpoint.
