Sender reputation

Sender reputation is the score mailbox providers assign to a sending identity, primarily its IPs and domains, based on complaint rates, spam-trap hits, bounce rates, engagement, authentication, and volume consistency. Reputation determines acceptance rates, throttling, and placement. It is earned slowly and lost quickly, which is why warmup and traffic shaping exist.
