MailOps

MailOps is the engineering discipline of building, operating, securing, monitoring, and optimizing email sending infrastructure at scale: the intersection of infrastructure operations and deliverability. A MailOps team is responsible for the systems that move mail (MTAs, queues, IP pools, authentication, monitoring) and for the sending practices that determine whether that mail reaches the inbox. The term is analogous to DevOps: it treats email delivery as an operated production system rather than a fire-and-forget service.
