Mailbox provider (MBP)

A mailbox provider is an organization that hosts recipient mailboxes: Gmail, Microsoft (Outlook/Hotmail), Yahoo, Apple iCloud Mail, and thousands of regional and corporate providers. Mailbox providers set the acceptance rules, rate limits, and filtering that senders have to work within; in deliverability writing they are often loosely called "ISPs."
